BLESS was privileged with the visit of Ms. Suzanne Geprianos and Dr. Hadi Bakhoum, representatives of H.O.P.E. Foundation in South America. H.O.P.E. Foundation is under His Grace Bishop Youssef, Bishop of South America.
On Sunday 12 November 2018, the representatives visited the village of Gharira in Esna,
one of the ICDP projects. During the visit they met with the committee members (local volunteers),
and field workers (development practitioners), as well as Mr. Adel Sami, Sector Coordinator of Aswan.
The Development Committee members explained their role in the committee. They also clarified how they implement various development interventions for different components of ICDP.
The components of the ICDP are Health care component, Economic development component, Adult education and Improving education components, Rural development component, New generations development component, Housing improvement component and Empowerment and Sustainability component.
The interventions are according to the time plan set by the field workers, and Sector coordinator with the cooperation of the development committee in the village of Gharira.
At the end of the meeting, Ms. Suzanne W. and Dr. Hadi thanked Mr. Adel, the field workers and the Committee for their efforts in the development of the society.
They, also, visited some of the targeted development interventions. For example, they visited two families with a small loan project and a housing improvement project.
At the end of the visit, they received the blessing of His Grace Bishop Ywoaquim, Bishop of Esna, and praised the development work in the village of Gharira. The representatives of H.O.P.E. put forward the idea of establishing a development project that contributes to the continuity of development work in the village.
On Monday, November 13, they met with H.G. Bishop Yolios, Bishop of Public, Social and Ecumenical Services.
