The Disabilities Program of BLESS is dedicated to serving Egyptian people with various physical, visual, and linguistic disabilities. The Program aims to support people with disabilities, offering services and rehabilitation opportunities to people with various disabilities of all ages. These services are offered in order to help integrate people with disabilities into their society, to become active and equal participants.
The Primary Objective of the Disabilities Program is to empower people with disabilities to enjoy their rights, live a life of dignity, and integrate into all societal activities.
People with disabilities remain one of the most marginalized groups in Egypt, receiving little governmental or public assistance in overcoming their disabilities or living a dignified life. Negative social stigmas, employment discrimination, and abuse all perpetuate the struggles of disabled people. BLESS addresses both the immediate needs of people with disabilities, providing medical services and assistance, as well as actively looking to change social perceptions of disabilities.
