Historical Background
Convention of the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical and Social services
Our blessed sons, Grace to you and peace from God our Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the blessing that has beengiven to the pure apostles in the place of Zion will be set upon all of you.
As for the general and social situation of some of our beloved Church members, whom we have been entrusted to bythe Lord Christ, and what we have observed in many cases that come to us every day that some families who were inthe past rich and now need to be cared for. They need food, clothing and spiritual guidance. The church's care will lead to individual’s peace and family stability.
As well as the social situation in general, such as, rescuing and filling the needs of vulnerable people. Guidance is also needed for those who tempt the manifestations of this life, surrendering to their desires and emotions or are affected by foreign ideas and strange teachings, abandoning their church and denying their faith. These people are our responsibility just as our faithful sons to their church.
Therefore, we have chosen our blessed son / Makari Syriani, guided by the Holy Spirit; we ordained him as a bishop and called him Bishop / Samuel. He is assigned to organize the services of the Bishopric of Public and Social services to serve people. He is going to take care and organize the affairs of our expatriate children. Bishop Samuel will organize and be in direct contact with the foreign entities that aspired to the Coptic Church. We have committed in him the activity and the innate readiness and sincerity in serving the Church. This helped the church in having a distinctive place among the churches of the world. He helped in clarifying the Coptic Church's role and deeds throughout the ages and generations in the consolidation of the true faith and the spread of Christianity in many countries of the world. All this qualify him for this service. He will make the necessary suggestions to be submitted to us to carry out the necessary regulations, directions, supervision and projects in various public and social service areas.
Our blessed sons, who are interested and engaged in these services, must welcome him as worthy of his status of respect, reverence and true love. They are expected to meet him as the children with their father with spiritual love. They should not depart from all his parental guidance and religious advice. For the sake of the messages that for which the Holy Spirit gave him this blessed place.
We pray for the Lord that he would fulfill the hopes of this service and that He would support our beloved brother, Bishop Samuel, in his efforts to make a blessed fruitful service and that its results would be for the good of the Churchand the people. May He bless our renaissance with his heavenly blessings, uniting us, strengthening our wills andemphasizing the word of truth and righteousness in our souls.
We always thank our almighty God
