Maize is one of the most strategic crops in Egypt. During the field visits from one of the BLESS staff members, which was also during the planting season of maize, it was made known that the crops were infested with Fall Armyworm infestation.
The BLESS staff member made multiple following field visits in order to count and identify the infected lands in the villages of El-Zoe’r and Bani Khaled. Accordingly, the Rural Development Program guided farmers to use different kind of pesticides in order to remove of the infestation. As a result, the land productivity was preserved.
