The Human Resource Development Program is the primary training program of BLESS. The program aims to develop the administrative and technical capacities of BLESS staff, field workers, and partner developmental organizations working in the same fields as BLESS. The program offers professionally facilitated training workshops, classes, and field visits, helping BLESS and our partners contribute more effective services to our targeted communities throughout Egypt.
The Primary Objective of the Human Resource Development Program is to build the professional skills and capacities of BLESS staff, volunteers, and local partners, developing personnel, and offering better services to targeted communities.
Eman Nasr, a 28-year-old lady, lives in Qena Governorate. When BLESS started its interventions in the community, she volunteered to teach 43 primary students the computer skills. She said, “I didn’t know anything about computer skills before, but I studied via the Internet and developed myself”. Even when she has an accident and was injured, she insisted to continue the course with the children. The community priest nominated her to be one of BLESS field workers team, for being an active community member. Eman joined the basic training held by the Human resources program. During training, Eman showed a spirit of perseverance, a love of learning, and selfdevelopment. The training gave her the chance to develop her computer skills, and invest her supportive personality by teaching computer skills to her field worker colleagues. By the end of the training, Eman formed a team to produce the training documentary film. BLESS rewarded her efforts with a laptop.
in the new targeted communities through the Basic training by:
- Providing them with skills and knowledge including computer skills in order to be qualified to lead the development work.
- Developing the life skills and leadership personality of the fieldworkers.
- Adopting modern techniques in trainings, such as participants conducting online research to cover the topics discussed in the training, which improved their technological skills.
in accordance with employees’ annual assessment results, through the following: -
The advanced English courses, computer courses and e-mail writing skills courses which developed the technical skills of the program managers and staff. - The specialized courses which improved the managerial skills of the Human resource employees and program managers, and resulted in developing the evaluating system for BLESS’ employees. - Contracting with certified training centers such as Egypt Centre for Training and Development which provided us with qualified trainers in computer skills and English language skills.
in coordination with Community Empowerment and Sustainability Program, the training aims to build their local committees’ capacity in developing their strategic plan after exit in order to guarantee the sustainability of the development work.
