The Human Resource Development Program

The Human Resource Development Program is the primary training program of BLESS.  The program aims to develop the administrative and technical capacities of BLESS staff, field workers, and partner with developmental organizations working in the same fields as BLESS. The program offers professionally facilitated training workshops, classes, and field visits, helping BLESS and our partners contribute more effective services to our targeted communities throughout Egypt.

"Beautiful melody"

Eman Nasr, a 28-year-old lady,  lives in Qena Governorate. When  BLESS started its interventions in  the community, she volunteered  to teach computer skills to 43 primary students. She said, “I didn’t know anything  about computer skills before, but  I studied via the Internet and  developed myself”. Even when she had an accident and was injured, she insisted to continue the course with the children.  The community priest nominated her to be one of BLESS field workers team, for being an active  community member. Eman joined the basic training held by the Human resources program.  During training, Eman showed a spirit of perseverance, a love of learning, and self development. The training gave her the chance to develop her computer skills, and invest her supportive personality by teaching computer skills to her field worker colleagues. By the end of  the training, Eman formed a team to produce the training documentary films.

Expanding the capabilities of 45 fieldworkers

Improving capabilities of fieldworkers through basic training by:

  • Providing them with skills and knowledge (including computer skills) in order to be  qualified to lead the development work.
  • Developing the life skills and leadership personality of the fieldworkers.
  • Adopting modern techniques and trainings, such as participants conducting online research to cover the topics discussed in their training, which in turn improved their technological skills as well.

Developing the skills of 498 BLESS’ employees

In accordance with employees’ annual  assessment results, employees developed their skills through the following methods:

  • The advanced English courses, computer courses and e-mail writing skills courses which developed the technical skills of the program managers and staff.
  • The specialized courses which improved the managerial skills of the Human resource employees and program managers, which resulted in the development of the evaluating system for BLESS’ employees.
  • Contacting with certified training centers such as Egypt Centre for Training and  Development which provided us with qualified trainers in computer skills and English  language skills.

Sustaining the accomplishments of BLESS fulfilled communities

In coordination with Community Empowerment and Sustainability Program, BLESS trained 30 volunteers and field workers to build local committees’ in BLESS served villages aiming to develop strategic plans in communities after service in order to guarantee the sustainability of the developed work.
